Mulberry a British premium brand
founded by Roger Saul, in 1971. It’s a family run business, he has started this brand with the great vision, and the idea was generated at the kitchen table by borrowing the money from his mother. The first products launched by Mulberry were leather belts with buckles, followed shortly by other accessories in the way of their famous handbags and a women’s wear line in 1979. All of Mulberry’s products are defined by their timeless design, commitment to traditional craftsmanship, and a modern sensibility that continue to influence everything the brand creates. To Mulberry, heritage marks the starting point of their story-not the end-as it revisits the past to see it through new, greener eyes.
Pioneering Innovation at Mulberry: How Tradition Meets Modernity in Luxury Fashion:
Mulberry leads the way in pioneering a “farm-to-finished product” approach that puts the spotlight on transparency with local sourcing in mind. They’re collaborating with the finest tanneries for the development of low-carbon leather from organic and regenerative farms. While scaling this process, Mulberry also works with groups like the Leather Working Group and the Sustainable Leather Foundation in the interests of responsible Behavior regarding animal welfare, traceability, and environmental care. Much of the Leather used in many of their bags is sourced from LWG Gold Standard tanneries.
Rethinking Sustainability: Mulberry’s Commitment to Protecting the Environment and Innovating for the Future:
Along with rethinking its productions, Mulberry runs a Repairs Team in The Rookery, restoring over 10,000 bags a year using materials from its archive. Besides this, it offers a bag buy-back scheme where customers can have their Mulberry bags authenticated and valued, using that valuation in respect of a new purchase. The bought-back items are refurbished and resold on the Mulberry website. It has also partnered with the HURR Collective to offer customers a chance to rent its products.
